Make note of early-emerging
perennials in your spring garden.
Then, this fall, pick mid- to late-
blooming bulbs and plant them
among the perennials.
1) Grape hyacinth with chartreuse
‘Isla Gold’ tansy.
2) “Thalia’ daffodil and ‘Christmas
Marvel’ tulip with a perennial
geranium nearing bloom.
3) Mixed tulips mingled with blue
forget-me-not (
Myosotis
) and
chartreuse cypress spurge
(Euphorbia cyparrisias).
4) Striped squill
(Puschkinia
libanotica)
with ‘Brownies’ coral
bell
(Heuchera).
